Our working line puppies generally range from $2000 - $3000 and show lines generally range from $2800 - $3800.  These are general price ranges and pricing can vary depending on pedigrees and individual puppies.  Deposits are required in order to be placed on the waiting list and are non-refundable, although deposits can be transferred to another upcoming litter, if requested or if there are not enough puppies in a litter to accommodate everyone on our list.  Deposits can be transferred no more than twice and will only be held for two years before it is forfeited.  Puppies generally will be sold as "pet quality" unless evaluated as "working quality" by a professional trainer.  Most puppies would do well in ACTIVE companion homes and in homes wanting to start in club level Schutzhund (IPO) Dog sports.  All puppies come with pre-paid AKC registration, litter pedigree, micro-chipped, Up-to-Date on vaccinations, de-wormed, started on heart-worm medication, vet health record, puppy gift basket (bowl, leash, collar, food, toy, blanket, etc), and hip/health guarantee per written contract.  All puppies sold will be either DM "Clear" or "Carrier" - Puppies will NOT be "AT RISK" for DM per parentage.   


All puppies are sold with LIMITED AKC registration which can be converted to FULL registration once the puppy passes the required health certifications as specified in the written contract.  This is done in order to protect the German Shepherd breed from being plagued with genetic health problems due to poor breeding practices. 

Deposits are $500.00 and are non-refundable.  We accept Zelle, Venmo and Personal Checks for Deposits.  We can also provide a link to pay via Good Dog.  Please speak with us prior to using the Good Dog payment options so we can help you avoid their added fees.  PAYMENT VIA GOOD DOG SHOULD ONLY BE MADE VIA THE LINK WE SEND.  If you wish to pay using Paypal, this can be done per arrangement and will require the service fees (usually 3%) be paid by the customer.  We do accept full payments via cash, personal check (MUST BE RECEIVED AT LEAST 10 DAYS BEFORE PICK-UP), Venmo and Zelle without any additional fees.  Prior to leaving a deposit, please review our Puppy Contract and complete the Puppy Application to ensure that we can fulfill your requests.

Should your application be accepted and you wish to leave a deposit, we will send you an electronic signature request for our puppy contract, which can be completed electronically.  You can also print, sign and mail the contract to VHM German Shepherds, PO Box 668, Oakland, Oregon 97462.  Additionally, you can scan and email the contract if you wish to dlhk9tex@yahoo.com.  We will sign the contract and return a copy to you at pick-up.

I will respond to all applications within 72 hours of receiving them via email pending any unforeseen circumstances.

For those clients who are unable to to travel, delivery is available within a 250 mile radius for an additional $30 per hour drive time to cover our time, fuel and additional travel expenses.  Delivery dates are subject to weather conditions and scheduling.  If we are delivering multiple puppies to one location, we can discount travel expenses. Please contact us via email or by telephone to discuss options and to set up personal delivery.  We do provide periodic FREE delivery to the Redding area.  Again, free Redding delivery is subject to weather conditions, road conditions and breeder scheduling. 

We can also ship puppies via Alaska Airlines Cargo or via a Ground Transportation Service.  Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions regarding transportation. 

Understanding Hip and Elbow ratings
Since the AKC requires no genetic health testing for hips/elbows, we use the SV model (passing hips required  in Germany since 1966).  Passing hips range from A-Normal to Noch-Zugelassen.  For Elbows, passing ranges from Normal (0/0) to ED Noch-Zugelassen (1/1).  Below are the charts to help explain the ratings.

We are super excited to announce our V2 Litter with our Graceful Madelyn vom Haus Middleton (Maddie) and SG1 Jenser vom Nikberger Land, BH, IPO1, CGC. 

This litter will consist of all long-coated puppies with suspected lower drives and moderate energy. Colors will be solid black and black & red. They will all be exposed to various sounds, flooring, obstacles, environments, other dogs and our two cats. We expect low prey drive and moderate food drive. These puppies should be beautiful, wonderful family companions, with some potential for therapy work or entry level dog sports, such as dock diving, barn hunt, etc.

Maddie is a coated black/red WGSL with a tad bit of Czech & West German working lines mixed in a few generations back for the purpose of outbreeding. We imported Maddie's maternal grandmother, Meggy von der Fangschleuse, IPO1, from Germany and her great, great Grandpa was my very first shepherd, Tex vom Erlenbusch, Sch1, who was also imported from Germany. Maddie's sire, Arrko Robixson, IPO1, is a coated WGSL imported from Poland. Maddie has OFA certified "Good" hips, "normal" elbows and is DM/Embark "Clear".

The sire, SG1 Jenser vom Nikberger Land, BH, IPO1, CGC (call name “Jack”) is a solid black, long coated show-line shepherd imported from Poland. Jack was raised on a farm and exposed to all types of animals, including cats, other dogs, horses, cows, wallabies, etc. He’s a very sound-minded, stable boy who enjoys squeaky toys and hanging out with his family. Jack is crazy about water and the hose, which he has passed down to some of his previous puppies. Jack has a-normal hips/elbows and is DM/Embark “Clear”.

The pricing for this litter is $3000 for either males or females.

Deposits are $500 and placing on waiting list is based on when deposits are received. Final payment is due at pick-up and can be made via Zelle, Venmo or cash. We are very excited to announce our planned W2 Litter with Polish Import SG Jenser vom Nikberger Land, IPG1 and our Yara vom Haus Middleton.  THIS IS A REPEAT BREEDING.

The dam is Yara vom Haus Middleton, from our "Y" litter with our Czech Imports, VD Donar Skocicka samota, ZVV1 and Zea Kateko, ZVV1. Yara has moderate to high energy and moderate drives. She’s incredibly smart, as well as super affectionate and loving. She gets along with all other dogs, males and females alike and is very gentle and playful with our puppies. She enjoys chasing her kong and splashing in the water on our 20-acre ranch. As for health, Yara has certified OFA "excellent" hips and "normal" elbows. She is DM "clear" and has been Embark DNA tested for 256 illnesses known to have a genetic component. She is a Scott’s Syndrome carrier but since the sire is NOT a carrier, these puppies will not be at risk.

The sire is Polish import SG Jenser vom Nikberger Land, BH, IPG1 (call name “Jack”). Jack has low-moderate drive and energy and was raised on a farm with various animals, including cats, other dogs, horses, birds, cows, donkeys, etc. He’s a very sound-minded, stable boy who enjoys squeaky toys and hanging out with his family. These puppies will be a combination of working and show lines. Coloring should be mostly solid black with some sables and bicolors based on genetic traits. This litter will also produce both long and stock coats. If you are absolutely set on a particular coat length, we do not recommend getting on this waitlist as we won't know coat lengths until about six weeks of age.  We suspect these puppies will have low-moderate drive and moderate energy. Puppies should have high trainability and would do best in active pet homes or in entry-level type dog sports like Barn Hunt, Fast Cat, Trick Dog, etc. Potential for service work and scent work.

We are very excited to announce the planned mating of our Princess Sophia vom Haus Middleton and Nahkaito vom Haefner, CGC. 





Sophie is the daughter of our Czech Import Zea Kateko, ZVV1 and is a descendent of our Czech Import Uma z Holykova, IPO2 and my West German import, Tex vom Erlenbusch, Sch1, Police Dog. Sophie is a heavy-boned, powerful girl with beautiful structure. She has a very nice "off" switch, no handler aggression and gets along well with both male and female dogs. Sophie has OFA certified "Good" hips and "normal" elbows. Additionally, Sophie is DM Clear and is not at risk for developing 256 genetically identified illnesses via Embark testing.



Sire is Nahkaito vom Haefner, CGC (Owned and loved by Deanana of Valor K9). Nahkaito has OFA "Excellent" hips, normal elbows, is DM Clear and is also not at risk of developing any of the 270 + illnesses tested for by Embark known to have a genetic component. Nahkaito comes from Asko von der Lutter lines, which has produced some of my favorite dogs of all time. Asko was the sire to my Police K9 partner, Tex vom Erlenbush, and the winner of the world championship WUSV working dog trials in 2000, where the best IPG3 dogs in the world compete every year. Nahkaito is an easy-going, sound-tempered boy who currently works as a therapy dog. He makes visits to those who need comfort, including nursing homes. He is also a "blood donor" and K9 ambassador. He has a nice, big head and beautiful structure. Nahkaito does great with other dogs, as well as cats.



These puppies should have excellent natural protective instincts and drives. We suspect these puppies would do well in protection, competitive dog sports, SAR, therapy, service work and in active companion homes with previous GSD experience (or other herding/working breeds) or with people willing to work with a trainer to better understand the needs of this particular breed. They will be extremely intelligent and focused with excellent trainability. All of our dogs are exposed to a variety of adults, children, other dogs, cats, chickens, etc. for maximum socialization. All puppies will be stock coat (short) as neither parent carries the gene to produce long coats. Colors expected are sable, bi-color and black/tan.
